Lauren Harrington is an artist living and working in Detroit. She developed her studio practice while working for the master printmaker Richard Duardo in Los Angeles. From this apprenticeship, her work has drawn influence from the serigraph printing process, often using stencils to create layers and editions of work. The subject of her work is often centered around craft in art, both in imagery and technique. She uses textile patterns, collage, repeating patterns & folk art imagery to create her visual narrative, often using material that draws attention to the environment itself, reflecting in harmonious color relationships and often plays with the light in the environment of the installed works.
